Achille Polonara: “I want to return to the court against Olimpia”

On the day of the Italian Cup Final-8 final, Achille Polonara opens up in a candid chat with Gianluca Gazzoli.

“What can I say… when I walk into a sports arena, I always feel good! I’ve had some complications recently, but thanks to treatment, I’m feeling better now. I’m having heart surgery tomorrow, which will allow me to return to playing. My goal is to be back on the court on March 22 when my team, Sassari, faces Milan.”

Achille Polonara explained how the idea of writing a book came about. “Il mio secondo tempo” (My Second Half), published by Rizzoli, will be released in the coming days: “I wanted to write a book even before all these adventures. I am very grateful to Marco Garavaglia and the Mondadori group with Rizzoli. I wanted to write a post-career book to share anecdotes.”
