ACB set May 31 as deadline to decide whether to resume or cancel the season

ACB will have a 12-team tournament if the season resumes

Spanish ACB team assembly met today in conference call.

The clubs decided unanimously:

– Establish with competent authorities a health protocol for the resumption of practices and competition that guarantees the health of all participants;
– Terminate the regular season for reasons of force majeure. There will be no relegation in Leb Gold;
– Decide the title of Liga Endesa through a final phase that will be played by the 12 best teams in regular season, a tournament that will be held in a single venue;
– The venue will be decided soon;
– A minimum of three weeks of preparation is set before resumption of the competition
– May 31st is the deadline to decide whether the season resumes or is canceled;
– July 10 is the latest day to end the competition;
– If the ACB season is canceled, no teams will be crowned as champions;

The final phase would be played by the 12 best team of the regular season in a single venue.
The teams will be divided in two groups of six teams each.

Each team will play five games.

The best two teams of each group will play the semifinals and the finals in knockdown games.
