A new Abu Dhabi-based basketball project is aiming to enter the European basketball landscape, following a path similar to Dubai Basketball.

According to BasketNews, the initiative has been quietly laying the groundwork for a future entry into the ABA League, with the 2027/28 season viewed as the likely launch target.

The long-term vision would also include joining the EuroLeague ecosystem, potentially starting with the EuroCup as early as the 2028/29 season.

Dubai Basketball’s rise and the Final Fours scheduled in Abu Dhabi in 2027 and 2029 have reportedly increased regional interest in European basketball projects. Other Middle Eastern markets, including Doha in Qatar, are also being explored.
