A player worried about Winner League COVID-19 protocol expresses concerns on physical, mental health

In a reply, the Israeli league has precise that the league is operating under Israel MOH instructions.

In a letter forwarded to Sportando, an anonymous American player has said to his unprecised Israeli team that he’s concerned about the circumstances of the continuation of the season and the COVID-19 protocol presented by the Winner League.

The player has expressed concerns about the mental health effects of being required to go only to work for two months, without even being able to go to a store to buy groceries for the family, or about the reduced training camp times (19 days against recommendations of a 6-8 weeks period) implemented by the League. The player has later concluded hs message that until both clubs and League can not guarantee that players’ safety both in regards to COVID and physical and mental healths cannot be enforced, any player should decide in good conscience to not play without being subjected to a punishment.

The Winner League has replied, via journalist Roi Cohen, stating that “The league is operating under the MOH instructions… We respect any player who is concerned and doesn’t want to play. The teams will make sure that all of the health protocols are kept”.
