Jalen Duren will miss at least two weeks with a right hamstring strain. The Detroit Pistons center suffered the injury in the first half of the win over Miami and played only 10 minutes before leaving.
“It’s tough when you lose a guy that means as much to us as JD does,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “It’s tough for him and difficult for us as well.”
Duren is coming off an eventful offseason that included a lengthy contract standoff before he eventually signed a five-year, $200 million extension. Last season he averaged a career-high 19.5 points, made his first All-Star team and earned All-NBA Third Team honors.
