Zalgiris beats Toraz 96-76 and sets a Lithuanian league record with 39 straight wins, led by Jonas Valanciunas’ 21 points

Zalgiris Kaunas defeated Toraz 96-76 and set a new record in the Lithuanian league. Tomas Masiulis’ team reached 39 consecutive wins, surpassing the club’s previous mark from the 1998-99 period.

Jonas Valanciunas led the way with 21 points on 8-of-11 two-point shooting and 7 rebounds. Sterling Brown added 17 points, while Zalgiris broke the game open in the third quarter after leading 43-41 at halftime.

The win keeps Kaunas on top of the standings with a two-win cushion. Zalgiris also finished with 22 assists, 12 steals and 10-of-20 shooting from three.
