The former Cavaliers forward explained why he joined Philadelphia on a four-year, $38.7 million contract

Dean Wade told ClutchPoints that the Philadelphia 76ers aggressively pursued him from the opening hours of free agency. Their repeated calls showed him how highly the organization valued him.

His relationship with president Mike Gansey, who previously worked with Wade in Cleveland, also influenced the decision. Wade additionally wanted to join a team ready to contend for an NBA championship.

The subsequent arrivals of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James strengthened his belief: “That immediately let me know I made the right decision.”
