Dinamo Banco di Sardegna is pleased to announce the signing of Brandon Tyre Young, an American-Bulgarian point guard/shooting guard, who joins the Biancoblu roster for the 2026/27 season after spending last season in China with the Shandong Badgers.
Young represents an important addition to the roster coached by Luca Vitali, providing further depth while Canadian guard Kaza Kajami-Keane continues his recovery. Kajami-Keane will not require surgery and will continue to be closely monitored by the Dinamo medical staff.
THE PLAYER – Born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, on November 16, 1991, Young is a 193-cm combo guard with excellent ball-handling skills, capable of playing both point guard and shooting guard.
After his college career at DePaul University, where he posted impressive numbers and established himself as a player capable of creating offense and facilitating for his teammates, Young began his professional career in the United States with the Texas Legends in the D-League.
In 2015, he moved to Europe, beginning a long international career that has taken him to Greece, Switzerland, Lebanon, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Turkey and France. One of the most notable chapters of his career came with BBC Monthey, where in the 2016/17 season he won the Swiss championship and League Cup, while also being named Finals MVP. In 2020, with Levski Sofia, he added the Bulgarian Cup and Bulgarian Super Cup to his trophy cabinet.
During his European career, Young also played for Lavrio, Kolossos Rhodes, Cherkasy Mavpy, Kyiv-Basket, Trefl Sopot and CSKA Sofia. With the Polish club, in the 2021/22 season, he averaged 11.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists. At CSKA Sofia, meanwhile, he posted impressive numbers across the two seasons between 2022 and 2024, averaging 15.7 points and 6 assists, followed by 15.8 points and 6 assists per game.
In the latter part of his career, Young played in Turkey for MKE Ankaragücü, averaging 18 points and 4 assists per game while shooting 45% from three-point range, before moving to France and joining Fos Provence Basket, where he averaged 13.2 points per game in 10 Pro B appearances during the 2024/25 season.
Young has also been part of the Bulgarian national team setup since 2023, gaining valuable experience on the international stage.
