According to Chris Fedor of cleveland.com, the Cavaliers sent roughly $4 million in cash to the Charlotte Hornets to convince them to absorb Schröder’s contract.

Cleveland’s priority was to avoid including draft picks in the deal, and the franchise ultimately managed to do so.
