Former NBA player DeQuan Jones suffered a gruesome lower-leg injury during a Philippine Basketball Association game, forcing him to leave the court on a stretcher.

The incident occurred during the matchup between the NLEX Road Warriors and TNT Tropang Giga. Jones landed awkwardly after driving to the basket, and an opposing player fell onto his planted right leg, causing a devastating injury.

According to Spin.ph, Jones suffered a complete fibula fracture, a dislocated ankle, and a fractured medial malleolus. He was taken directly to the hospital, where he successfully underwent surgery.

The injury drew comparisons to Paul George’s infamous leg injury suffered during a Team USA scrimmage in 2014.

Before the injury, the 36-year-old was leading the NLEX Road Warriors to the top spot in Group A with a 7-1 record, averaging 24.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

After going undrafted in 2012, Jones spent one NBA season with the Orlando Magic before continuing his professional career across Europe and Asia.
