Maxima Roma have announced Matteo Cotelli as their new head coach. The coach from Brescia has signed a three-year contract, a move that confirms the club’s intention to build a long-term sporting vision after defining its new governance structure.
Cotelli began his coaching career in Pallacanestro Brescia’s youth system before joining the first-team staff. Since 2021, he served as assistant coach, contributing to the 2023 Italian Cup win, before being promoted to head coach of Germani Brescia for the 2025-26 season.
“I am truly excited to take over as head coach of Maxima Roma,” Cotelli said. “It is a fascinating challenge: we have the extraordinary opportunity to contribute directly to the birth and construction of this club. We are already working to build a competitive roster, with the clear goal of bringing big-time basketball back to Rome.”
