Openjobmetis Varese sign Ismaël Kamagate to multi-year deal

The French center completes Varese’s summer market, bringing athleticism, rim protection and paint presence

Pallacanestro Varese have announced a multi-year agreement with Ismaël Kamagate, the French center born in 2001 and listed at 211 centimeters and 100 kilograms. He will join Openjobmetis starting from the 2026-27 season, completing the club’s summer market.

Kamagate arrives in Varese as an athletic and defensive-minded big man. He can protect the rim, switch onto smaller players and provide verticality on offense, especially as a roll man in pick and roll situations. Maksim Horowitz, General Manager of Basketball Strategy, said Kamagate adds “another level of versatility” to the roster.

Born in Paris to Ivorian parents, Kamagate has played for Paris Basketball, Olimpia Milano, Derthona Basket and Beşiktaş. With Tortona, he was named to the All-FIBA Basketball Champions League First Team, while last season in Turkey he helped Beşiktaş reach the Turkish league final, the Turkish Cup final and the EuroCup final. He has also made three appearances with France’s senior national team.
