Real Madrid will face the EuroLeague Final Four without two key big men, Walter Tavares and Alex Len.
The Spanish club has announced medical updates that represent a major blow ahead of the title-deciding event.
Len underwent tests by Real Madrid’s medical staff and was diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia of his left foot. The former NBA center joined the team this season to add frontcourt depth, averaging 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in EuroLeague regular-season play.
The biggest loss remains Tavares, who suffered a medial collateral ligament tear in his left knee during Game 1 of the series against Hapoel Tel Aviv. His absence removes Madrid’s main defensive anchor from the Final Four.
Tavares averaged 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game, earning All-EuroLeague Second Team honors. Without both centers, Real Madrid will have to reshape their rotations and interior identity at the most important stage of the season.
