Fitness First Würzburg Baskets have decided to act early and go all-in on continuity. The German club has officially announced the contract extension of Saso Filipovski, who will lead the team for three additional years. Under this agreement, the Slovenian coach will remain at the helm until 2029.
Under Filipovski’s leadership, Würzburg is maintaining a strong pace in the 2025-26 BBL, currently holding a 14-8 record in the regular season. This performance confirms the group’s steady growth and the coach’s ability to extract the maximum potential from his players.
Alongside the domestic league, the club is also competing on the Basketball Champions League stage. Despite a challenging run in the Round of 16 (Group K), where the German side currently sits at 1-3, their hopes for the quarterfinals remain alive.
