Lithuania bounced back from Friday’s defeat by beating Iceland 99-82: Ignas Brazdeikis scored 27 with 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Kristinn Palsson led Iceland with 23. Lithuania also got Ignas Sargiunas 18 and Azuolas Tubelis 11, while Iceland had Elvar Fridriksson 15 with 8 assists after his heroics in the previous game.
Lithuania seized control immediately and never let Iceland back into the game, maintaining a comfortable cushion throughout and closing out the 99-82 win.
In the standings picture, the result means Luca Banchi’s Italy cannot secure mathematical qualification for the next phase tonight. However, with a win over Great Britain, Italy would draw level at the top spot.
