LeBron James is an All-Star again — for the 22nd consecutive season — extending his own record for both total and straight selections. The reserves were revealed Sunday night ahead of Lakers-Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
“Super humbling,” LeBron said, crediting the coaches for recognizing his level of play at this stage of his career. He added he wasn’t chasing the honor after missing early time, focusing instead on returning to a high standard once the rust was gone.
JJ Redick called it “unheard of,” pointing to a 20-plus-year prime, while Luka Doncic said it’s “incredible” to share the floor with him. The event will be played Feb. 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood under the new U.S. vs. the World format, and Adam Silver will name a replacement for Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf).
