Sunday’s London meeting between the NBA and Barça highlighted the current gap: the league is courting the club, yet Barça remain cautious and stick with the EuroLeague.
Among those present were Adam Silver and Mark Tatum, with Pau Gasol acting as the link between both sides.

Money is the key issue, with an entry fee reportedly set between $500 million and $1 billion.
As a non-corporate member-owned club, FC Barcelona would need a commercial subsidiary and to transfer exploitable rights into that entity.

The structure could bring capital and limit downside, but it also fuels the main fear: losing real control over the basketball operation.
With no external investor currently in play, Barça’s stance buys time, while an EuroLeague exit clause would cost €10 million if they change course later.
