Miami Heat, waived Precious Achiuwa

Among the final roster moves before the start of the regular season, the Miami Heat have decided to waive Precious Achiuwa.

The Nigerian center had signed a non-guaranteed $2.3 million contract with the Florida franchise on September 24.

This decision allows Miami to drop below the luxury tax threshold, maintaining a margin of $1.6 million.

In addition to Achiuwa, Ethan Thompson, Dain Dainja, and Bez Mbeng were also waived, though they are expected to be assigned to the team’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
