It’s official. Chus Mateo is Sergio Scariolo’s successor on the Spanish national team bench.

Born in Madrid in 1969, Mateo has extensive experience with Real Madrid, where he settled permanently in 2014 as an assistant coach, becoming head coach in 2022.

As head coach of Real Madrid, he has won two Spanish titles, two Super Cups, one Copa del Rey and the 2023 EuroLeague.
