José Garbajosa announces: for EuroBasket 2029 we are considering replacing injured players

FIBA Europe President José Garbajosa made some interesting statements ahead of EuroBasket 2029, confirming a change in the schedule and also announcing the possibility of replacing injured players. Here are his words.

Garbajosa on replacing injured players: “It’s true that Germany, if I’m not mistaken, will play tomorrow with only 10 players. We could open a discussion about the possibility of having players ready, maybe at home, or training to step in in case of injuries. Every decision must be made with some careful reflection.”

On the schedule: “I used to play at EuroBasket with three consecutive games and just one day of rest. Today players only have one back-to-back in the competition, while at EuroBasket 2029 they will never have two consecutive games.”
