Shock news for Germany at EuroBasket 2025. Alex Mumbru announced he will no longer act as game-day head coach, handing the role to assistant Alan Ibrahimagic, who had already led the team during the group stage.
“I’m not physically ready to coach the team from the sidelines,” Mumbru said, after dealing with an infection that forced him to hospital earlier in the tournament. He will still sit on the bench to support the players. Germany, still undefeated, will face Luka Doncic’s Slovenia in the Quarterfinals on Wednesday.
