Leading France to a 103–95 win over Slovenia with 32 points and a game-high 40 efficiency, Sylvain Francisco apologized for his late layup that sparked controversy with Luka Doncic.
“I said I was sorry. I should have told him ‘play defense’ because I was going for point differential,” Francisco admitted. “At the end of the day, I take full responsibility and move forward”.
The Zalgiris Kaunas guard thanked his teammates: “It’s not only me, the team made it happen. I even heard MVP chants, and I loved it”. Doncic still shined with 39 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists in the loss.
