Alba Berlin and Matteo Spagnolo have parted ways. The 22-year-old guard’s contract, which was originally scheduled to run until the end of the 2025/26 season, has been terminated by mutual agreement. Spagnolo joined ALBA in 2023 and has since played a total of 92 games with the Albatros.
Last season, he averaged 9.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3 assists in the easyCredit BBL and BBL Cup. In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he averaged 9.6 points, 2 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Himar Ojeda (ALBA Sports Director): “After discussion, we have agreed to terminate Matteo’s contract, a decision that represents the best solution for both parties. We are very grateful to Matteo for his commitment over the last two seasons. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours, both on and off the court.’
Matteo Spagnolo: ‘I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last two years. I have made so many wonderful memories in Berlin that will stay with me forever. And to the fans: thank you again for everything. I wish you all the best for the future!”
