The Timberwolves center will sit out this summer

Rudy Gobert will not join the French national team for EuroBasket 2025, scheduled from August 27 to September 14.
The Minnesota Timberwolves center has decided to skip the tournament for recovery reasons.

In February, Gobert explained that summer basketball takes a toll:
“After the Euro, it’s always harder. You don’t recover the same at 33 as you do at 23,” he told L’Équipe.
This will be his first missed international tournament since 2017.

France may also be without Victor Wembanyama, who is recovering from deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
