Former Gonzaga big man Filip Petrusev is one of the best European prospects for the 2021 NBA Draft.
During an interview with RTS, the KK Mega Bemax player confirmed his intention to play in the NBA next season:
“My main goal is to be part of the best league in the world, the NBA. If I wanted to start a career in Europe, I would have chosen a Eurocup or Euroleague team. I think is very difficult to find in Europe an environment like that of KK Mega Bemax .. . The team is mainly composed of young talents, we play in only one competition and we work every day at a high level ”
On the comparison with Nikola Jokic, also from Mega Bemax, and now among the best big men in the NBA.
“He is certainly a role model for all young players in Serbia because he is doing things in the NBA that no one has done before him. I think he is still an atypical player, with abnormal talent. I understand the reason for the comparison, but I think it’s slightly unfair to me … ”
Petrusev is averaging 23.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in ABA Liga, shooting 59% from the field, 43% from beyond the arc and 77% from the foul line.
