Zalgiris is down 2-0 in the Lithuanian Basketball League final against Rytas. Coach Andrea Trinchieri blurted out in a press conference, demanding clarification from the referees and the Lithuanian league, saying that Zalgiris is not getting enough respect. These are his words.
Trinchieri’s words: “Why are my players not respected? Why can Sumner play only 8 minutes? Why can Rytas players do anything, beat up Lekavicius, who is also a national player, and they are not penalized with fouls? Why not? I don’t understand… I have the feeling that the league wants to beat Zalgiris, wants us to lose…. I have enough experience to understand that”.
