Wizards: Deni Avdija could return in Saturday's preseason game against the Knicks

Avdija was the No.9 pick of the 2020 NBA Draft

Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija recently returned to play in 5-on-5 scrimmages.
The player ended his rookie season early last April due to a severe right ankle injury.
Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr would like him to play as early as next Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Knicks.

Avdija averaged 6.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game during his rookie year.

Coach Wes Unseld Jr. says Deni Avdija played in 5-on-5 scrimmages today for the first time. He is not going to play in tomorrow's preseason opener, but they are looking at Saturday for his debut.
