D’Angelo Russell could opt to become a free agent for the second year in a row. The Los Angeles Lakers point-guard would have a player option for a second year with the yellow-violet franchise, but according to Brian Windhorst in his podcast, “he almost certainly will not exercise the player option.”
In fact, the player is having a very good season and may seek a bigger contract for his career, especially financially. Russell is averaging at an average of 18.2 points, 6.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
