In San Antonio’s season opener, Victor Wembanyama found it challenging to keep pace, playing 28 minutes in a 120-109 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The French center scored 17 points on 5-of-18 shooting, adding 9 rebounds and 4 turnovers.
“I felt great at times,” Wembanyama said, “but conditioning-wise, it was a bit tough initially, as expected.” After limited preseason minutes, Wembanyama expects to be back in full shape within a few games. The Spurs will face the Rockets on Saturday.
