Washington Wizards: Trae Young ejected from the bench ahead of his debut, set for Thursday vs Jazz

A bizarre first for Trae Young in Washington: the star guard picked up his first ejection as a Wizard before ever playing a game. In Monday’s 123-118 loss to the Houston Rockets, Young—on the bench and not in uniform—was ejected after walking onto the floor to complain to an official during a confrontation involving Tari Eason and Jamir Watkins (Eason was also ejected).

Earlier in the day, Young posted that he plans to make his Wizards debut on Thursday, March 5 at home vs the Utah Jazz.

After being sidelined since Dec. 27 with right leg issues (knee/quad), head coach Brian Keefe said Young is expected to be on a minutes restriction of roughly 17–20 in his first game back.
