Klay Thompson, who suffered a torn left ACL during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, was recently re-evaluated and confirmed to be on track with his rehabilitation timeline. He will not play the remainder of this season, but is expected to return when training camp begins late Sept.
Coach Steve Kerr said that there is still a chance for him to play for Team USA at Olympics.
“It’s not off the table,” the coach told ESPN. “It’s still a possibility. We haven’t really discussed it. I think the [Olympic] team meets in July, so it’s still quite a ways away. But it’s really not anything we’re discussing at this point. It’s still a possibility … obviously his health is the No. 1 concern, and so we’ll kind of cross that bridge when we come to it.”
