Jonathan Kuminga exited in the second quarter of the Golden State Warriors’ 123-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks after twisting his left ankle and hyperextending his left knee on a drive.
The Warriors ruled him out with “knee soreness,” and after early evaluations, neither the ankle nor the knee is believed to be serious, per a league source. Kuminga told ESPN the knee “was bothering him more” and said he’d see how it feels Friday morning before deciding on an MRI.
He had 10 points in nine minutes off the bench and was a team-best plus-18 before the injury. With Jimmy Butler III out for the season due to an ACL tear, Kuminga is expected to play a significant role if healthy, with the trade deadline looming in two weeks.
