Virtus Bologna’s Achille Polonara has been diagnosed with myeloid leukaemia

Virtus Bologna has released this statement on Achille Polonara. It should be noted that the blue wing has been unavailable since the playoff series with Olimpia Milano. The club talked of myeloid lucemia.

Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.A. announces that over the last few weeks, Achille Polonara has undergone further specialist medical investigations, following which the diagnosis of myeloid leukaemia was made.

Polonara is now hospitalised at the Sant’Orsola Malpighi Hospital in Bologna, where he has already begun specific therapies.

The entire Virtus Segafredo Bologna family is close to Achille and his loved ones and wishes the boy a speedy recovery.
