Virtus Bologna is looking for a guard after Chiozza decided to accept Warriors proposal

Virtus Bologna is pursuing Nico Mannion, sources told Sportando, and the two sides are discussing the length of the contract, a source added.

The Italian-American point guard has spent his first season in the NBA averaging 4.5ppg, 2.3apg and 1.5apg in 30 contests with the Warriors.

Chris Chiozza was Virtus Bologna’s main target but the guard decided to accept the two-way contract offered by the Warriors.

Mannion is a restricted free agent in the NBA after the Warriors extended the qualifying offer two weeks ago.

The Arizona product has recently played at Olympics with Italy’s NT averaging 12.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 4.5apg.

Another name on Virtus Bologna’s radars is Jaleen Smith, a profile the Italian champions are following since months. The guard averaged 15.2ppg, 5rpg and 5.3apg in Bundesliga with Ludwigsburg.
