Virtus Bologna CEO on Toko Shengelia: It was not a matter of money

During the interview given to Radio Nettuno Bologna Uno, the CEO of Virtus Bologna, Luca Baraldi, and the GM, Paolo Ronci, also discussed Toko Shengelia, who was the subject of many transfer rumors this summer.

Baraldi: “Shengelia has always given 200% for Virtus and will continue to do so in the future. Anyone who doubts this does not know him or us. It was not a matter of money; if Virtus had wanted to capitalize on Shengelia, we would have accepted a significant buyout offer that we received. But we believe he should be one of the leaders of our project.”

Ronci: “EuroLeague has reiterated that for a player under contract, one must contact the home club. We have only firmly reaffirmed our stance to protect our work and the image of the club.”
