Vincent Poirier spoke to Eurohoops at the EuroLeague Media Day: the Anadolu Efes Istanbul center responded to Juan Toscano Anderson and expressed his sincere opinion on the EuroLeague-G-League debate. These are his statements.
Poirier’s words: “Toscano Anderson? I talked to some friends about his statements, I also saw the tweets from Fournier and Mike James. Yes, maybe he said it to motivate his team, but this game showed how strong European teams are. Unicaja Malaga is not even a EuroLeague team and they beat the best team in the G-League. I don’t think the G-League is a real league. I know a lot of players who are not ready to leave America to go to another continent, so I don’t think playing there shows the true value of the players. Of course, I don’t know which league is the most valuable to get to the NBA, but honestly, I think the G-League is on the level of the French second division. I mean that with no disrespect, I played there, so it just is. I know a lot of players that came from the G League to Europe and they looked a lot better there”.
