Undefeated Italy confirms World Cup roster

Milano's Guglielmo Caruso and Varese's Tomas Woldetensae are Italian NT last two cuts on eve of the FIBA World Cup in Manila

After a fifth straight win over Puerto Rico in Ravenna, Italian NT head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco confirmed the roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, releasing from the squad Milano’s center Guglielmo Caruso and Varese’s swingman Tomas Woldetensae.

The following is Italy final roster for the World Cup: Marco Spissu (Venezia), Stefano Tonut (Milano), Nicolo Melli (Milano), Simone Fontecchio (Utah Jazz), Giampaolo Ricci (Milano), Matteo Spagnolo (ALBA Berlin), Achille Polonara (Virtus Bologna), Mouhamet Diouf (Rio Breogan), Luca Severini (Tortona), Gabriele Procida (ALBA Berlin), Alessandro Pajola (Virtus Bologna) and Gigi Datome, who last played for Milano and is set to retire as a player at the end of the World Cup.
