Tyrique Jones, the new center for Partizan, shared his thoughts in an interview with Mozzart, discussing his expectations for the season and comparisons with former player Mathias Lessort. Jones stated: “I can’t promise to do what Lessort did, nor to be like him. No one in the world can be Mathias Lessort except himself. Likewise, no one can be Tyrique Jones. I want the fans to see what I can do. I’m not trying to imitate others; I want to be authentic on the court.”
Jones also praised the legendary coach Željko Obradović: “Working with Obradović means never being satisfied with what you’ve already achieved. He’s a great teacher, always giving you the answers you seek and challenging you every time you step on the court.”
He also emphasized the importance of following the game plan: “If we stick to his plan, there won’t be any problems. He allows us some room to improvise when necessary, but it’s crucial to respect his vision, as it gives us a better chance to win.”
