The german team is third in the Euroleague standings with 18 wins in 28 games.

Bayern Munich coach Andrea Trinchieri talks after the home win against Panathinaikos.

“On one side, I want to congratulate Coach Kattash and Panathinaikos because it was very difficult to beat them. They played specific basketball and we needed to go over our limits to win this game. And we won the game because my players, everybody, even those who didn’t shine on offense, gave their maximum effort on defense. We were, for 25 minutes, from the middle of the second quarter, we played unbelievable on defense. We were super aggressive, super energetic, we were helping each other. That was the key of the game. Of course, there are some individual performances that are very important – Wade [Baldwin], Lucha [Vladimir Lucic], but without the team effort, and everybody played great defense, it would not be this game. It would be a different game, so congratulations to my players. Congratulations. They made me proud because it’s easy to ask things to the team, it is not easy to have them, and I had great answers from my team.”
