Virtus Bologna forward Toko Shengelia is sidelined due to an ulcer, with recovery expected to take 20-30 days. According to Repubblica-Bologna, Shengelia will need time not only to heal but also to regain weight and conditioning, potentially returning to action by mid-January. His absence is a significant blow for Virtus, particularly in domestic competition, as the team faces a challenging European campaign with minimal room for error.
Club president Massimo Zanetti offered reassurance, stating, “Shengelia has an ulcer, but fortunately, he’s already on the mend thanks to the excellent work of Professor Borghi. He’s been treated, and in a few days, he’ll be back without any problems. We’ll miss him on the court.”
