The Memphis Grizzlies have decided to retire the No. 9 jersey of Tony Allen, a player who has made a name for himself in the NBA with his defensive play. The news was reported by Damichael Cole of the Commercial Appeal and later confirmed by Tony Allen himself.
The former player spent seven years of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, always reaching the playoffs and even the Western Conference Finals in 2013. He will be the third player in franchise history to have his jersey retired, following Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, his former teammates.
