Sylvain Francisco’s future has returned to the center of the EuroLeague transfer market. The ASVEL Villeurbanne point guard has once again attracted interest from several European powerhouses due to the financial uncertainty surrounding the French club’s project.
According to BeBasket, Panathinaikos have already made inquiries about the player’s situation after previously attempting to sign him in recent months. The Greek club’s interest comes amid concerns over ASVEL’s financial plans, with the team initially expected to operate with a record €59 million budget next season before presenting a revised €24 million plan to the DNCCG financial commission.
Despite the growing attention from major European teams, Francisco does not appear eager to push for an exit and is reportedly waiting to see how the situation develops. The French guard signed a lucrative three-year contract with ASVEL and is considered one of the cornerstones of the club’s ambitious new project, which also includes the announced arrivals of Daniel Theis, Nick Weiler-Babb and Armoni Brooks.
