Spain coach Sergio Scariolo announces roster for 2025 Euro qualifying games

Spain will play against Latvia on February 22 in Zaragoza, and against Belgium on February 25 in Charleroi.

Spain NT coach Sergio Scariolo has announced the 14-player roster for the upcoming 2025 European Championship qualifying games.

The group includes the returning Ricky Rubio, plus 6 young talents invited as part of the Golden Boys 2.0 project.

Scariolo began by saying that  “every time is a special opportunity to enjoy the national team again. I am looking forward to getting back to work after months, and also because the level of the rivals is very demanding. It is a special convocation also because six of the players we are working with for the future will be there.”

Scariolo added that “the second reason is because we will be able to count on Euroleague players, thanks to the break in the competition, and this is a good news. We have prioritized players who do not have a lot of playing time in their teams to see them before the summer.”

Finally, the CT also pointed out some absences due to physical problems of players such as Juan Nuñez, Alex Abrines, Lorenzo Brown, Sergi Llull and Willy Hernangómez.

Spain will play against Latvia on February 22 in Zaragoza, and against Belgium on the 25th in Charleroi.
