Important news for Spain: “Spain B”, or the second team of the Spanish national basketball team, is born. The goal, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, is to ease the transition from the youth national team to the first team as much as possible. Both selections will receive the same treatment, with coach Sergio Scariolo overseeing the B national team, which will be coached by coach Jaume Ponsarnau.

The words of Sergio Scariolo: “This is a very important project for us. We want the men’s national team to have a second team that will be considered the mainstay of the senior national team. Its players will be treated in the same way as the senior national team. Both teams will train in the same facilities and maintain close contact, with the close collaboration of their respective technical staffs”.
