The Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the NBA, but Commissioner Adam Silver defended the Dallas Mavericks, stating there were no “ulterior motives” behind the blockbuster deal involving Anthony Davis.
“I understand the fans’ anger, but time will tell if it was the right move. Dallas made the trade believing it was in the franchise’s best interest,” Silver said.
Doncic admitted feeling stunned and disappointed, while the Mavericks face backlash from their fanbase. Silver reaffirmed his trust in GM Nico Harrison and owner Patrick Dumont, emphasizing their long-term championship vision.
Elsewhere, the NBA is also monitoring the Minnesota Timberwolves sale and the Lakers’ rescinded trade for Mark Williams.
