Shavon Shields, captain of Olimpia Milano, stars in La Gazzetta dello Sport in the interview granted to Giulia Arturi. Here are three passages:
ON THE MOMENT
“In every new team it takes some time. There were a lot of players who had just arrived and at the beginning we were struggling to understand each other. Now we are in a good moment, but there are always ups and downs in a season. We have to keep working and build on what we’ve done so far to get even better.”
ON HIS ROLE
“I try to do what it takes to help the team win, and I can do it in many ways: one day it’s assists, the other day it’s rebounds, defense or making a basket. If it’s needed to win, I’m happy.”
ON NICO MANNION
“He’s been great. He has brought a new dynamic. He is a very good one-on-one player, he is able to create advantages not only for himself, but also for others. He has helped us change energy, especially on offense. I’m glad he’s here and I hope he continues to grow.”
