According to Artem Komarov, Shabazz Napier left Zenit and Russia to return to the States.
Apparently the former UConn would have taken this decision in any case, regardless of the ongoing war, because he didn’t feel he was ready to play.
Napier injured his ankle early in the season, but Zenit announced his debut for the game against Barcelona, which was scheduled yesterday before the postponement decided by Euroleague.
Shabazz Napier has left Zenit, I’m told by the source. But the reason behind it is not that obvious – he would’ve left Russia anyway ‘cause he didn’t feel he was ready to play. That’s why he was prepared to fly home.
