Sergio Scariolo did not accept Hapoel Tel Aviv? “I did not have any offers that motivated me”

Hapoel Tel Aviv recently announced the signing of Dimitris Itoudis, one of the most prominent coaches in European basketball. However, the Israeli club also had the name of Sergio Scariolo on their shortlist. In an interview with the Spanish media, the Spanish coach explained why he does not sit on a club bench.

Scariolo’s words: “Do I miss sitting on a club bench and a national team bench? You could say I miss it, yes, but not dramatically. That’s why I turned down two or three offers outside Spain. I’m having enough fun with the Spanish national team, I’m happy. The ideal thing would be to have a group project that motivates me to accept and be part of it. I am not in a position to accept every offer”.
