Serbia won the third and fourth place finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics against Germany and returned to win an Olympic medal 8 years after the last time. Coach Svetislav Pesic spoke in the post-game about his future, as at the end of the Olympics his contract expired, these are his statements.
Coach Pesic’s words: “Now it’s time to celebrate this great victory and the bronze medal. I don’t have any plans. For the first time in my life I don’t know what to do in the next days. Be with my family and friends and celebrate. Go on vacation. I really don’t know. Everyone knows that I am ready to help Serbian basketball. Today we don’t have a national championship, although basketball is the most important sport in Serbia. We have to think about the development of our basketball. I don’t know who will be the head coach of the national team or who will fill the other roles. Now it is important to analyze these Olympics and prepare for the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028”.
