Serbia lost to the United States in the semifinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics in a game that came down to the final minutes. After the game, Bogdan Bogdanovic analyzed the game and criticized the referees, who, according to the NBA player, did not apply the same standards to both teams. These are his comments.
Bogdanovic’s words: “We can be proud of the fact that we never gave up. We played to the best of our ability, maybe in the final we could have made a few more shots and given them a few less possessions, but that’s basketball. The referees? We tried to talk to them, but they didn’t want to talk to us, they walked away. The U.S. doesn’t need that kind of help against us – we didn’t get that kind of help when they were grabbing us or holding us with two hands. But I am not the kind of person who talks about the referees, I wanted to win even against the referees: I don’t want to think like a loser, but I think they could have whistled differently in certain situations”.
